ABOUT THE ARTIST: Artist and designer Sarah Sczepanski brings her distinctive monotype printmaking to life through bold abstractions inspired by the natural and urban landscapes that surround her. Based in Cold Spring, New York, Sarah creates one-of-a-kind prints by painting directly onto plates and running them through a printing press, embracing the element of surprise that defines the monotype process.

Drawing inspiration from everyday textures — from bubble wrap and vegetable wrappers to leaves and dried flowers — Sarah’s work merges the tactile qualities of both man-made and organic materials. Her compositions reflect a balance of calm and energy, echoing the Yin and Yang of her experiences in nature, the city, and her upbringing near the ocean in Massachusetts.

Sarah earned both her B.F.A. in Art Studio and B.S. in Textiles, Fashion Design, and Merchandising from the University of Rhode Island. For over fifteen years, she has continued to refine her craft at the National Academy and New York School of the Arts in New York City. Her work has been featured in numerous exhibitions, including The Other Art Fair, Shoppe Object, Garrison Craft, The National Academy of Design, IPCNY, and High Point Market.
